Humidity Bench

experimentNo. 0010categoryLabs & sensesrecordingpendingdataCC BY 4.0

Dry-air and moist-air inputs are delivered separately to the fly's VP4 and VP5 hygrosensory channels, and each response is measured against a disconnected control.

Recording pending publication. Follow along for the release.

Setup

  • Two plates in front of the fly for the dry and moist conditions.
  • Channels: dry air (VP4 hygrosensory neurons) and moist air (VP5).
  • Side both, left or right; amplitude 0–1.2; cameras Arena, Fly, Plan, Stimulus.

Measurement

  • Normalized direct drive to the annotated humidity-receptor cells.
  • Paired stimulus and disconnected branches with the same seed, recorded in 100 ms population bins.

Limitations

  • Humidity dose is illustrative: relative drive, not %RH.
  • No thirst or hydration state is simulated.
