Setup

  • 46 stages, from arrival and the entrance procession through the readings, Eucharistic Prayer and Communion to dismissal and departure.
  • 24 fly parishioners including the subject, a fly priest and two fly servers; two parishioners also serve as reader and psalmist.
  • An original procedural church: vaulted nave, jewel glass, rear rose window, organ gallery, six rows of pews with kneelers, ambo, altar, crucifix and tabernacle.
  • Six cameras: nave, altar, congregation, Communion, ambo and stained glass.

Measurement

  • Retinal-only neural windows during playback, with fixed weights.
  • Postures, movements and handling of liturgical objects are pre-programmed and modified for a six-legged fly.
  • The activity does not measure belief, prayer, sacramental validity or religious experience.

Limitations

  • A condensed visual representation without spoken prayers, Scripture readings, a homily recording or music. English cue summaries do not reproduce the Missal.
  • No calendar date, readings, homily or musical setting is selected; optional incense, sprinkling and announcements are omitted.
  • Architecture, travel speeds and timing are modeled, not taken from a measured parish recording.
