Dee and Kelley: Scrying Uriel
experimentNo. 0039categoryRituals & ceremoniesrecordingpendingdataCC BY 4.0
The fly, as Edward Kelley, watches the framed stone at John Dee's Holy Table while a second fly as Dee questions and records, until Uriel, then a chair and table, appear inside the stone.

Recording pending publication. Follow along for the release.
Setup
- Ten stages over 180 seconds: a composite of the 10 March 1582 conversations, the developed 1583 furniture and Uriel's appearance as described on 13 January 1584.
- The Holy Table follows Ashmole's measurements: a 36 1/4 x 35 7/8-inch top, 0.7-inch thickness and a 14 1/4 x 11-inch centre of three columns and four rows. Historical plate marks supply the paintwork.
- Four wax foot seals, the central Sigillum Dei Aemeth, silk coverings and a silver-framed crystal.
- Six cameras, including table, crystal, Dee's notes, table feet and Kelley's first-person view. Inspect cutaways show the paintwork or seal in the viewport only.
Measurement
- Retinal-only neural windows during playback, with fixed weights. The canonical eye image always shows the covered table, regardless of inspection cutaways.
- The apparition is rendered from Kelley's reported vision; the flies do not independently perceive an angel.
Limitations
- An explicitly labelled composite, not a reconstruction of one dated session.
- Fly clothing, room layout, likenesses, lighting, gestures and timing are modeled; the room is not a survey of Dee's house.
- No later Golden Dawn ritual or unsourced Enochian speech is inserted.
