Temperature Bench

experimentNo. 0009categoryLabs & sensesrecordingpendingdataCC BY 4.0

Normalized warming and cooling inputs are delivered to the fly's identified VP2 and VP3 thermosensory pathways, and the two channels are compared against disconnected controls.

Recording pending publication. Follow along for the release.

Setup

  • Two plates in front of the fly, one warm-toned and one cool-toned.
  • Channels: warming (VP2 thermosensory neurons) and cooling (VP3a, VP3b).
  • Side both, left or right; amplitude 0–1.2; cameras Arena, Fly, Plan, Stimulus.

Measurement

  • Positive or negative temperature-change proxies as normalized direct drive to the annotated cells.
  • Paired stimulus and disconnected branches with the same seed; default 0.2 s baseline, 1.2 s stimulus, 0.2 s recovery.

Limitations

  • Relative drive, not degrees; receptor transfer functions are not calibrated.
  • Not a realistic thermotransduction model.
