Seven-Inversion Launch Coaster
experimentNo. 0035categoryRides & explorationrecordingpendingdataCC BY 4.0
The fly rides in the front row of an eight-car, four-abreast train on a reference-based model of a launched coaster in Orlando, through an inclined launch tunnel and seven inversions.

Recording pending publication. Follow along for the release.
Setup
- 18 seekable stages over 135 seconds: boarding, the launch tunnel, a zero-G roll, a cobra roll, two vertical loops, two corkscrews, two trenches, brake runs and the return to the station.
- Four flies sit in the first row, with the fly in the left-center seat; rows behind the first are empty.
- One scene unit is four metres; vertical scale targets 110 ft (33.528 m) and the plan is calibrated to a 3,700 ft centerline.
- Fly riders, Front row POV and Train chase cameras roll with the leading car; Whole coaster and Lagoon inversions views show the layout.
Measurement
- Canonical 32-column retinal input reaches the fixed connectome model; the eye camera retains train roll, including when the sky is below the rider.
- Train motion, passenger posture and ride cues are pre-programmed; no vestibular input, g-force or physiological response is modeled.
Limitations
- Control points, banking, loop shape, supports and landscaping are approximations, not a manufacturer drawing, survey or validated coaster-physics simulation.
- The 135-second timeline is a programmed distance schedule, not measured ride telemetry.
- The fly's body is enlarged and fitted to the seat; this is not a physically sized fruit fly.
