# Data and feeds

TheFlyBrain publishes its experiment registry in machine-readable form. Everything here is a static file: fetch it with a plain GET, with no account or key. The files are rebuilt each time the site is updated.

## Resources

| Resource | Format | Contents |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [`/experiments.json`](https://theflybrain.com/experiments.json) | JSON | Every experiment (68): number, title, topic, date added, summary, setup, measurement, limitations, sources and page links. |
| [`/search.json`](https://theflybrain.com/search.json) | JSON | The site search index: experiments, topics, pages, neuron pages, glossary terms and questions. |
| [`/feed.xml`](https://theflybrain.com/feed.xml) | Atom | Experiments, newest first. |
| [`/llms.txt`](https://theflybrain.com/llms.txt) | Text (Markdown) | What the site is, key facts, and links to every experiment and page, in the llmstxt.org format. |
| [`/llms-full.txt`](https://theflybrain.com/llms-full.txt) | Text (Markdown) | Every experiment in full, with timelines, plus questions and answers. |
| [`/sitemap.xml`](https://theflybrain.com/sitemap.xml) | XML | Every page, with last-modified dates and images. |
| [`Any page + index.md`](Any page + index.md) | Markdown | The page as Markdown, for example /faq/index.md. Requests with Accept: text/markdown receive the same file. |
| [`/openapi.json`](https://theflybrain.com/openapi.json) | OpenAPI 3.1 | A machine-readable description of these resources. |
| [`/.well-known/api-catalog`](https://theflybrain.com/.well-known/api-catalog) | Linkset (RFC 9727) | A catalog of the resources above, for automated discovery. |

The homepage also returns `Link` headers (RFC 8288) pointing to the API catalog, the OpenAPI description, this page and `llms.txt`. Every page carries schema.org structured data.

## Using the data

- Please credit TheFlyBrain and link to the experiment’s page when you use or quote this data.
- The connectome behind the model is MaleCNS v1.0 from FlyEM at HHMI Janelia, released under CC BY 4.0; see [credits and licenses](https://theflybrain.com/methods/#credits).
- Browser previews on this site use a simulated neural panel; recorded experiments come from the full workstation. Each experiment’s limitations are listed in its notes.
